प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी परमवीर चक्र से सम्मानित 21 सैनिकों के नाम पर अंडमान निकोबार के 21 द्वीपों के नाम रखेंगे.23 जनवरी को पराक्रम दिवस पर पीएम मोदी वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के ज़रिए इस कार्यक्रम में हिस्सा लेंगे.इस मौक़े पर पीएम मोदी नेताजी सुभाषचंद्र बोस को समर्पित नेशनल मेमोरियल का भी उद्घाटन करेंगे. 23 जनवरी को नेताजी बोस की जयंती होती है.अंडमान में पर्यटकों के बीच मशहूर रॉस आइलैंड का नाम भी बदलकर सुभाष चंद्र बोस के नाम पर रखा जाएगा. इसके अलावा जिन 21 द्वीपों का नाम रखा जाएगा, वो अब तक अनाम थे.सबसे बड़े दो द्वीपों का नाम पहले और दूसरे परमवीर चक्र विजेता मेजर सोमनाथ शर्मा और करम सिंह के नाम पर रखा जाएगा.
