बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री उर्मिला मातोंडकर आज यानी मंगलवार को महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे की मौजूदगी में शिवसेना में शामिल हुईं। इस तरह से उन्होंने कांग्रेस का साथ छोड़ अब एक नई राजनीतिक पारी का आगाज किया है। उन्होंने 2019 में कांग्रेस के टिकट पर लोकसभा का चुनाव लड़ा था और बाद में पार्टी छोड़ दी थी।
बताया जा रहा है कि शिवसेना ने राज्यपाल बी एस कोश्यारी के पास उर्मिला मांतोंडकर का नाम विधान परिषद में राज्यपाल कोटा से नामित करने के लिए भेजा है। इसके अलावा इस कोटे के लिए महा विकास अघाडी ने 11 और नाम भेजे हैं। हालांकि राज्यपाल ने अभी इन 12 नामों को मंजूरी नहीं दी है।
मातोंडकर 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में मुंबई उत्तरी सीट से कांग्रेस टिकट पर चुनाव लड़ी थीं। हालांकि उन्हें चुनाव में हार का सामना करना पड़ा। बाद में उन्होंने कांग्रेस की मुंबई इकाई के कामकाज के तरीकों को लेकर पार्टी छोड़ दी। हाल में उन्होंने मुंबई की तुलना पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर (पीओके) से करने के लिए कंगना रनौत की आलोचना की थी।
उर्मिला मातोंडकर का जन्म 4 फरवरी 1974 को मुंबई में हुआ था। उर्मिला ने अपने एक्टिंग करियर की शुरुआत बतौर चाइल्ड एक्ट्रेस मराठी फिल्म ‘झाकोला’ (1980) से की थी। ‘कलयुग’ (1981) उनकी पहली हिंदी फिल्म थी। उर्मिला ने 1983 में फिल्म ‘मासूम’ से चाइल्ड आर्टिस्ट के रुप में बॉलीवुड में डेब्यू किया था।
